Footer
The Footer section provides a centralized area for displaying navigation links, brand information, newsletter signup, social media links, store information, and legal content. It helps customers quickly access important pages and stay connected with your brand.
How to Edit the Footer
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Click Customize on the active theme.
- In the Theme Editor, scroll down and select the Footer section from the left sidebar.
- Adjust the settings, blocks, and layout options according to your preferences.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Section Settings
- Color Scheme: Select the color scheme used throughout the footer section.
- Margin Top: Adjust the spacing above the footer section.
- Margin Bottom: Adjust the spacing below the footer section.
Newsletter
- Show Newsletter Section: Enable or disable the newsletter signup area.
- Newsletter Heading: Enter the heading displayed above the newsletter form. Example: Unlock your full potential with 50% off!
- Footer Logo: Upload a logo to display in the footer. If no logo is selected, the store name will be displayed as text instead.
- Show Bottom Image: Enable or disable the sticky footer image displayed beneath the footer content.
- Bottom Sticky Image: Upload an image to appear below the footer section. This image is typically used for branding, promotional artwork, or decorative visual elements.
Bottom Bar
- Show Country/Region Selector: Enable or disable the country and region selector. This allows customers to switch between available markets when Shopify Markets is configured.
- Copyright Text: Add custom copyright text for your store. If left blank, the theme automatically displays: Copyright © [Current Year] [Store Name].
Footer Blocks
The footer supports multiple content blocks that can be added, removed, or reordered as needed. You can add up to 4 blocks in total and arrange them in any order.
Menu Block
- Heading: Column title displayed above the menu links.
- Menu: Select the navigation menu to display.
Notes
- Multiple menu blocks can be added.
- Useful for sections such as Shop, Company, Support, or Resources.
Social Block
- Heading: Title displayed above the social links.
Notes
- Social links are automatically pulled from Theme Settings.
- Only social networks with URLs configured will be shown.
- Recommended for 'Follow Us' or 'Connect With Us' sections.
Text Block
- Heading: Block title.
- Text: Rich text content supporting formatting and links.
Notes
- Ideal for store information, contact details, brand message, shipping information, or promotional content.
Best Practices
Do
- Use clear and concise block headings.
- Keep footer navigation focused on important pages only.
- Add social links through Theme Settings to display them automatically in the Social block.
- Use the Text block for important store information, support details, or brand messaging.
- Organize footer content logically so customers can find information quickly.
Don't
- Overload the footer with too many links.
- Use excessively long block headings that may wrap across multiple lines.
- Add duplicate menus containing the same links.
- Rely on the Text block for large amounts of content.
- Leave empty blocks without content, as they may create unnecessary spacing in the footer.
