404 Collections List
Show up to four collection cards on your 404 page so customers always have a helpful next step when they land on a broken or missing link.
The 404 Collections List section is designed specifically for your store's 404 page. Instead of leaving customers on a dead end, this section shows up to four of your collections with their product count and a button to browse all collections. Each collection card shows a product image, the collection name, and the number of products in that collection. When a customer hovers over a card, the image animates with a subtle tilt and lift effect. The entire card is clickable and takes the customer directly to that collection.

How to Edit the 404 Collections List Section
Section Settings
- Color Scheme: Choose a color scheme that matches the rest of your store.
- Section Heading: The title shown above the collection cards — for example "Some of our collections" or "Keep exploring".
- Button Label: The text shown on the button below the collection cards. Default: "View collections".
- Button Link: Where the button takes the customer when clicked. Default: your all-products page. You can change this to any page, collection, or custom URL.
- Layout & Spacing: Controls the padding and margin around the section. Only set the desktop value — the section scales it down automatically for smaller screens.

Collection Blocks
Each Showcase Collection block is one card in the grid. You can add up to 4 blocks. Click Add block to add a new one.
- Select Collection: Pick which Shopify collection this card represents. The card will automatically show the collection's featured image, the collection name, and the number of products in the collection (shown as a small superscript count next to the title, e.g. (06), (11)).

Collection images come from the collection itself in Shopify. Go to Shopify Admin → Products → Collections, open a collection, and upload a featured image there. The card will automatically use that image. If no image is set, a placeholder illustration is shown. The "Add block" option is greyed out once 4 blocks have been added.
Fallback Behaviour
If no blocks have been added yet, the section automatically looks for collections in your store named "Vans", "Jordan", "Nike air", and "Converse". If it finds them, it shows them as cards. If not, it shows placeholder cards with mock titles and counts so the section always looks complete in the theme editor and during setup. Once you add your own blocks, the fallback disappears and only your chosen collections are shown.

Best Practices
Do
- Add a featured image to each collection in Shopify Admin so the cards look polished — placeholder illustrations look unfinished on a live store.
- Use collections that are popular or relevant to what most customers are looking for.
- Keep the section heading short and reassuring — customers are on a broken page, so a message like "Here's what you might be looking for" works better than a generic title.
- Set the button link to your most relevant browse destination, whether that is all products, a specific category, or a sale collection.
Don't
- Add collections with very few products — a count of (01) or (02) can feel sparse and underwhelming.
- Leave the button label as the default if it does not match your store's tone.
- Use more than 4 blocks — the grid layout is built for exactly 4 cards and adding more is not supported.
- Leave this section off your 404 page entirely — a helpful 404 page significantly reduces the chance customers leave your store after hitting a broken link.
