Testimonials
Display customer reviews and testimonials in a full-width slider to build trust and social proof across your storefront.
The Testimonials section displays customer quotes in a full-width slider powered by Swiper.js. Each testimonial includes a quote, author name, and optional author title. The section supports autoplay, loop, and configurable transition speed, and includes previous and next navigation buttons along with pagination dots when multiple testimonials are added.
How to Edit the Testimonials Section
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Click Customize on the active theme.
- Select the Testimonials section from the left sidebar.
- Add Testimonial blocks and adjust the settings according to your preferences.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Section Settings
General
- Color Scheme: Select a color scheme applied to the section.
- Heading: Add an optional section heading displayed above the testimonials slider.
- Padding Top: Controls the top padding of the section. Scales automatically across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile.
- Padding Bottom: Controls the bottom padding of the section. Scales automatically across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile.
- Margin Top: Controls the spacing above the section. Scales automatically across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile.
- Margin Bottom: Controls the spacing below the section. Scales automatically across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile.
Slider
- Autoplay: Enable or disable automatic cycling through testimonials.
- Autoplay Delay: Set the time each testimonial is displayed before advancing to the next. Range: 2000–9000ms. Default: 4000ms.
- Transition Speed: Controls how fast the slide transition animation plays. Range: 200–1200ms. Default: 600ms.
- Loop: Enable or disable continuous looping of testimonials. When enabled, the slider cycles back to the first testimonial after the last.
Testimonial Block
Add up to 10 Testimonial blocks to populate the slider. Each block contains the following settings.
- Quote: Enter the customer review or testimonial text.
- Author: Enter the name of the customer or reviewer.
- Author Title: Optionally enter a title or role displayed in brackets beside the author name. Example: Verified Buyer, CEO.
Fallback Behaviour
If no Testimonial blocks are added, a placeholder message is displayed prompting you to add testimonial blocks in the theme editor. Navigation buttons and pagination dots are only shown when more than one testimonial block is present.
Best Practices
Do
- Use genuine customer quotes that highlight specific product benefits.
- Keep quotes concise and easy to read at a glance.
- Include author names and titles to add credibility.
- Add at least 3 testimonials to make the slider meaningful.
- Enable autoplay for a more dynamic presentation on landing pages.
Don't
- Use excessively long quotes that are difficult to read in a slider.
- Leave author name or title fields blank when the information is available.
- Add only one testimonial block as navigation and pagination will not appear.
- Set autoplay delay too short, making it difficult for customers to read the full quote.
- Use the section without any blocks, as it will display a placeholder message instead of content.
