FAQ

Display a list of frequently asked questions in an accordion layout — one open at a time, with numbered indexes and animated open/close icons.

The FAQ section displays a list of frequently asked questions in an accordion layout. Each question can be expanded to reveal its answer. Only one question is open at a time — when a customer opens a new one, the previous one closes automatically. Each FAQ item shows a numbered index on the left (e.g. 01, 02), the question in the middle, and a plus/cross icon on the right that animates when opened or closed. The answer text sits directly below the question, aligned to the same column.

How to Edit the FAQ Section

Section Settings

  • Color Scheme: Sets the background and text color for the entire section. Choose a scheme that matches the surrounding page content.
  • Section Heading: An optional heading displayed above the FAQ list. Leave it blank if you want the FAQ list to appear without a title.
  • Keep Open First FAQ by Default: When enabled, the first FAQ item is expanded automatically when the page loads. Useful for highlighting your most important question. When disabled, all items start collapsed.

FAQ Item Blocks

Each FAQ Item block is one question-and-answer pair. You can add up to 20 items. To add a new one, click Add block inside the FAQ section in the theme editor.

  • Question: The question text shown in the trigger row. Keep it short and clear — one line is ideal.
  • Answer: The answer that appears when the question is expanded. Supports rich text, so you can use bold, italic, links, and lists inside the answer if needed.

To reorder FAQ items, drag them up or down in the block list on the left panel of the theme editor.

Best Practices

Do

  • Write questions the way a real customer would ask them — short, conversational, direct.
  • Keep answers concise. If an answer needs several paragraphs, consider whether it belongs in a dedicated page instead.
  • Enable "Keep open first FAQ by default" to surface your most important question immediately on page load.
  • Order questions from most common to least common so customers find answers quickly.
  • Use the rich text editor in the Answer field for links — for example, linking "contact us" to your contact page inside an answer.

Don't

  • Add more than 10–12 items in a single FAQ section — long lists become hard to scan. Split into multiple sections or pages if needed.
  • Use very long question text — it wraps awkwardly on mobile and breaks the single-line trigger layout.
  • Leave the Answer field empty on a published item — an empty accordion panel looks broken to customers.
  • Use the FAQ section as a substitute for detailed policy pages (returns, shipping, privacy). Link to those pages from within the answers instead.
